- Pre-Professional Program
As part of a medical team, Physician Assistants examine patients, diagnose diseases, design treatment plans, and prescribe medications. They work in a wide variety of medical fields including primary care, family medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, and psychiatry.
Program Details
This program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Anatomy & Physiology, and Physics while granting them the opportunity to potentially gain admission into a professional degree program to pursue a Master of Medical Science degree.
The curriculum is designed based on information provided by the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Education Association and meets the prerequisites required by the majority of professional Physician Assistant schools.
This Pre-Physician Assistant program does not provide any licensing, certification, or direct opportunity to practice medicine once a degree is granted. Graduates of this program will be competitive for admission into graduate schools that offer a Master of Medical Science (Physician Assistant) degree.
